Sherri has always been deeply committed to giving back to her community. As a proud member of the Chipewyan Prairie First Nation, she works in her community to uphold Déne values, traditions and culture for future generations. Through both business and personal involvement, she takes every opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of those around her.

Making a difference through various initiatives

Sekweha Youth Centre

Sherri serves as the Vice President on the board for the Janvier Sekweha Youth Centre. Sekweha gives school-aged children a safe place to go after school where they can participate in activities and develop their culture, traditional ways and skills they need to succeed and make a positive impact on their community.

NAABA

Sherri served three terms on the Northeastern Alberta Aboriginal Business Association (NAABA) board where she actively participated in shaping the organization. NAABA is a non-profit organization committed to enhancing and creating an environment that promotes and supports the success and engagement of Aboriginal entrepreneurs.
